FAQ

  1. Q. What is the conference topic?

  2. A. This is a security program and will cover a wide range of security topics from security systems to security surveys to disaster related topics.

  1. Q. Are these people Security Directors?

  2. A. No. The National Park Service does not have a centralized operation like a corporation does. The country is divided into regions and within the regions are parks, historic sites, monuments, battlefields, museums, etc. The person responsible for security in each site could have a different job title from someone in a different site. Some are police officers, some rangers, some curators, etc. but they are all at the conference because they have some responsibility for security, fire protection, disaster planning, etc. Don’t be fooled by the title. These people are decision makers or the people who formulate the security plans that determine how security budgets are spent.

  1. Q. Can I cancel and get a refund if I can’t make it.

  2. A. You have until Sept. 15 to pay but after that date there is no cancellation as we need to commit to some type of end of the day reception and need to know our final budget for this.

  1. Q. Can I address the group?

  2. A. The speaker schedule has been set but this includes a five minute introduction of your product line where you can invite attendees to visit your booth for more details.

  1. Q. Can I get into Colonial Williamsburg for a discount?

A.  Yes. While we don’t have full details, we are told that you can get a deeply discounted pass for the duration of the conference (and the conference officially runs all week even though the exhibits are finished Wednesday). The cost is about half the normal price. Yes, bring your spouse!
